More Challenges

February 16, 2010

Hi everyone, I hope you are not enjoying the heat we are here in Brisbane.  It is raining today but it is so hot and humid.  Anyway, I decided to combine two challenges into one card again today.  Firstly this card fits the Stamping 411 sketch challenge and also the Just Add Ink colour challenge for this week.

The Colour Combo we needed to use was More Mustard, Rose Red, Sage Shadow and Kraft.  I started with a piece of Whisper White card and stamped the large image from Fresh Cuts in Versamark and embossed in White.  I then sponged Rose Red ink over the top of the image and then polished off the excess so that the white image really “pops” from Rose Red ink.  I distressed the edges using my distressing tool from the Cutters Kit and mounted it onto a piece of Kraft card (with distressed edges) and then Rose Red card, also with distressed edges.  The base card is Pumpkin Pie and I have stamped the same large image all over it using Versamark ink and then sponged the edges with More Mustard ink.  The Sage Shadow piece has also been stamped with the large Fresh Cuts image in Versamark ink and the edges sponged with Sage Shadow ink.  I punched both edges of a strip of Whisper White card using the Eyelet Edge punch and wrapped it with Kraft Tafetta ribbon and tied a knot.  The Sage Shadow piece is attached to the Pumpkin Pie card and then the Whisper White punched piece attached over the edge of the Sage Shadow Card.  The image panel is attached over the ribbon using dimensionals.

You can see the ribbon and the Versamark stamping on the Pumpkin Pie and Sage Shadow card in this image.  On reflection, this card will also fit the Late Night Stampers challenge for this week, which is to use punches.  I wasn’t sure that I would like these colours together, however I am happy with the way it has turned out.

If you would like any information on the techniques or products used in this card, then contact me k.mcintosh1@optusnet.com.au.

Bye for now,  Kris.
